Maggie Grace, born Margaret Grace Denig on September 21 of 1983 in Worthington, Ohio is an American actor. She is best known for playing Shannon Rutherford and Kim Mills and Kim Mills in ABC's Lost television show. Originally from Worthington Ohio she left high school and moved into Los Angeles with her mother when her parents separated. However, in 2001, despite financial struggles it was possible to land her first major performance in the video online series Rachel's Room in the role of Rachel's Room's principal character. The television film Murder in Greenwich, in which she played a 15-year-old Martha Moxley earned her the nomination of a Young Artist Award. Grace Rutherford played Shannon Rutherford for Lost's first two seasons in 2004 and she shared with her a Screen Actors Guild Award (with all the other actors) alongside her. After leaving the show, Grace wanted to appear on film more frequently, having starred opposite Tom Welling in The Fog in 2005. The actress starred in Suburban Girl The Jane Austen Book Club in 2007 and Taken (2008) with Liam Neeson. She reprised her role for Taken 2 (2011) and Taken 3 (2013).She also played Alice in Malice in Wonderland, a modern version from the Lewis Carroll novel Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. Grace played Shannon's part on Lost for two episodes. This included the final episode of the series. In 2013 she appears in the sixth episode of Californication. She is Faith an actress who is a muse for the stars, and draws the eye from Hank Moody (David Duchovny). She's a Gyllenhaal. daughter of Stephen Gyllenhaal (director) and Naomi Achs (producer), as well as more senior than Jake Gyllenhaal. She began her career in the teen years with minor appearances in the films of her father and starred alongside her brother in the cult favorite Donnie Darko (2001). Then she appeared as a character in Adaptation Confessions of a Dangerous Mind and Mona Lisa Smile (both 2002). Gyllenhaal received nominations for an Golden Globe Award in both the drama Sherrybaby (2005) and in the romance comedy Secretary (2002). Both films received acclaim from critics. Following several commercially-successful films, including World Trade Center in 2006 her fame grew when she played Rachel Dawes (the superhero) in The Dark Knight (2007). She was nominated as the Best Supporting Actress at the Academy Awards for her role of a single mom as she appeared in Crazy Heart. Following that she continued to appear in comedy films as well as dramas such Nanny McPhee and The Big Bang (2010) Hysteria (2011) as well as Will Not Back Down (12). Alongside her work as an agent of the Secret Service agent, she was also seen in White House Down (2013) as well as Frank (2014). One of her most recent roles include the protagonist of the film The Kindergarten Teacher (2018). Gyllenhaal was first introduced as a director and writer in 2021, with her psycho-drama The Lost Daughter. For this movie, she received the Best Screenplay Award at the Venice International Film Festival and nominated for an Academy Award.
